The Towel

Staged · Nothing posted v7 · July 11, 2026 From the July 5 message

One micro film, five short clips, stills, and social cards, all built from Sunday's message "Why Your Best Love Still Leaves Them Empty" (John 13). Everything on this page is staged for team review. Nothing has been posted anywhere.

What this review needs

  1. Grade the new cut of the film. This cut rebuilds the story from the timeline notes on the last review. It opens on the question instead of silence, the washing of feet is now shown on screen, every built shot lives in the same room, the ending answers the opening question, and the end card now carries the website. The music under the second half is new; say if it serves or if you want the quiet version. Ship it, send it back, or hold it.
  2. Grade the rebuilt cards. Round two of the type pass: every supporting line and context line now runs one exact size and weight across the whole set, and slide 3 was recomposed so its lines match too. Name any piece by the code on its card, like CARD-2 or CAR-3.
  3. Call the Fam challenge. Run the group post and lock screen this week, edit them first, or skip this round.
  4. The talking-head is optional. If it is not recorded this week it rides to the next run untouched.
Send feedback to Daniel, or drop it in the #comms channel. Nothing posts until it is approved.

What you are watching

The film now opens on the question: “What does love look like?” asked straight to camera. The room answers it. Every built shot lives in one continuous room, and the moment the message describes is finally on screen: water poured, feet washed, feet dried with the towel, low on the floor.

The words “The Lord is on the floor” land on that low shot and hold for a breath. Then the question returns, the towel is offered to you, and the film answers: “You don’t get to say what love is. Jesus already did.” The end card now points to citizenchurch.life.

The sound was rebuilt from produced recordings: room tone and fire under every scene, footsteps, water, and cloth where you see them, one deliberate silence before the final line, and a quiet string piece that rises as the story turns.

The Clips

Five vertical clips cut straight from the real sermon footage. Each one stands alone. Three were re-cut with the rebuilt camera tracking; the two wide-format clips were already steady.

Cards · Carousel · Lock Screen

Quote cards for the feeds, a six-slide carousel, and a lock-screen wallpaper that rides with the Fam challenge. All of them were rebuilt as one set: headlines sized for a phone, words kept in the open space of each image, and the church mark on every piece including the lock screen.
